Written Overview of the PSA

Target Audience:

The target audience for this project is everyone because people of all ages litter.

Message:

The message the video will be trying to get across is that littering is destroying our planet. To prevent this we should all take steps to demolish littering.

Action step:

Don't throw garbage on the ground, always put it in the proper container.

Significance:

It teaches people not to litter and also highlights the consequences of this act.

Summary of the video content

The audience is given lots of information about littering. The viewers learn how to prevent littering. The do's and don'ts are used to make the videos message clearer. Many facts and statistics are also shown to strengthen the main message.

Content / Message

  1. Is the message clear? I think the message of the video is clear because it is written at the starting of the video also the audience is reminded again about the message near the end of the PSA.
  2. Is the target audience clearly identified? (Who do you want to reach?) The target audience for this PSA was everybody because everyone litters, I think it was clearly identified.
  3. Does it cover the topic in-depth with details and examples? I think the topic is covered almost in-depth, lots of facts, statistics, and examples of preventing littering are stated.
  4. Is the information accurate, pertinent, and verifiable? The information is pretty much accurate because it was taken from very verifiable sources.
  5. Does your video have a clear beginning, middle and end? The beginning and end are pretty clear because the video starts with facts and ends with ways to prevent. I don't think the middle is very clear.
  6. Can the audience follow your story in a logical order? Yes the story is very simple and is very easy to follow.

Persuasiveness / Effectiveness

  1. Does the video appeal to youth? Yes this video does appeal to the youth because it has facts and statistics that apply to the youth.
  2. Does it make an impact on viewers? Yes, I think it does have an impact on the viewers because the stats are very real and scary.
  3. Is it credible, believable, and highly convincing? It is believable but I don't think it is very convincing because it doesn't have enough facts.
  4. What do you want the viewer to do? We want the viewer to do the best he can to demolish littering.

  1. Is the video the original work of students that has not previously been broadcast on television? In other words, iss all of the content in your project created by you and/or your fellow producers? The video is a original work but the pictures are from the web.
  2. Does the final product include a large amount of original thought? Yes it does contain a large amount of original thought because lots of time was consumed coming up with these ideas.
  3. Are the ideas presented creative and inventive? The ideas are pretty creative but I don't think the video is creative.

  1. Does the video contain high-quality images and sound? Yes the video contains high quality pictures.
  2. Is it within the time requirements? Yes the video is within the time requirements.
  3. Is it presented in  high quality and in correct format? The video is in the right format and in high quality.
  4. Does the use of camera work, light, setting, color, graphics, effects, etc. enhance the presentation or detract from the message? The camera work isn't that great but also it isn't that distracting.
  5. Does it start with at least 10 seconds of video black and ends with a minimum 5 seconds of video black? Yes the video contains 10 minutes of black screen at the beginning and end.
